The Perfect Pair of Jeans

The Perfect Pair of Jeans

There isn’t much we don’t love about fashion, but shopping for new jeans might just be the exception that proves the rule. It’s a nightmare! Too loose round the waist but they fit your hips and bum, unflattering and tight around the thighs but well fitted around the waist – sometimes it feels like you just can’t win.

But the perfect pair of jeans is out there, and when you find them they’ll quickly become your new best friend.

To give you a head start when you hit the changing rooms, we’ve put together a new jean guide that’ll help you find the most flattering fit for your body shape, plus there are a few styling tips to boot.

Lucky ladies with an hourglass shape have fairly equally proportioned hips and bust with a slim waist in the middle.

It’s hard to go wrong when it comes to dressing an hourglass body, but certain denim styles will accentuate your figure.

Skinny jeans look great on an hourglass frame as they’ll show off your envious curves. Opt for a pair with a higher waist as they’ll nip you in at the waist creating the illusion of an even slimmer middle.

To flatter an hourglass figure try these skinny jeans from Peacocks.

A pear, or triangle, shaped body is smaller on the top half and more curvaceous around the hips, thighs and bum – think Beyoncé or Jennifer Lopez.

The key to finding jeans that flatter a pear shape is to balance your proportions. This means bootcut or flared jeans will look fantastic on you because the extra fabric and shape around the calves will balance your hips and thighs.

Jeans made from stretch denim will also have a better fit for a pear shaped frame. They’ll fit the curves around your hips, bum and thighs in a way that’s sleek and flattering. Plus they’re often more comfortable than rigid denim jeans.

For a gorgeous blue denim bootcut jean try these from Peacocks.

Apple shaped bodies are bigger in the middle and often ladies with rounded shapes will avoid wearing jeans altogether, when actually the right pair can look fantastic!

High waisted skinny jeans might not sound like the first choice for an apple shape, but a well fitted pair teamed with a floaty top creates a well-balanced outfit that shows your slim legs – especially if your wear a heel.

Try these from Peacocks.

Don’t be put off by the name, Boyish body shapes are often blessed with a slim build, extra height and long legs – it’s the supermodel body type!

Like an hourglass figure, boyish body shapes are quite easy to dress. Long legs look fabulous in skinny jeans, and your slim figure means you don’t always have to opt for a high waisted pair.

Boyfriend, or Mom, jeans also look great on a rectangular frame – the looser fit adds bulk which can be unflattering on bigger body shapes, but a slim boyish shape can pull off Mom jeans effortlessly.
